Designing infographics, social media ads, web banners, and motion across industries

I was an intern on the Derivative Content Team at Siemens DISW. I support visual content through the creation of graphic, video, and multimedia content, including web banners, social media ads, infographics, GIF's, animations, videos, and branding. I also work on and develop special design projects to streamline existing workflow and processes, such as creation of ready-to-use PPT templates by industry leads.

Reflection & Takeaways

Over the summer, I first had to adapt to corporate branding, balancing creativity with strict brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all designs. One of my early projects involved overseeing the purchase of new stock image and video assets for content leads, ensuring they aligned with brand standards. Working within a larger team, I collaborated closely with marketing branches for different industries, creating visuals that effectively communicated complex technical information. Among my projects, I particularly enjoyed working on infographics, as they allowed me to design custom illustrations while also learning about various industries.

In addition to design work, I managed the creative services queue, which helped me develop skills in task prioritization and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced corporate environment. Often, I was handling multiple creative tasks simultaneously while balancing long-term projects. This role also strengthened my proficiency in design software and expanded my experience across different mediums, including presentations, digital assets, and print collateral. Beyond my assigned tasks, I took the initiative to work on video projects—an area I was eager to explore and develop further. Through this experience, I also became familiar with corporate workflows, design approval systems, and the processes behind managing creative projects in a large organization.

Near the end of my internship, I helped to explore the role of Celtra, a creative automation tool, and its potential to increase efficiency and creative output within the company. I’m grateful to my team for their support and for the opportunity to grow in this role.
